Chilltop-New Coke Commercial

Does anyone know the chords to the new-take on Cokes "Hilltop - I like to buy the world a Coke" song. Would love to know the name of the band as well, unless it's just a group of actors pretending but I doubt it.

The commerical and tune can be heard at www.cokezero.com.

I think the main them and chorus is a I-IV-V progression in G, but watching the commercial he's also playing around the 12th fret as well.

It's a cool jam (kinda Jack Johnsonish) and a cool re-take on a great 70's/80's coke commercial tune.

Would love to hear back from anyone,

Ayden

Just for kicks here's the lyrics as good as I could pick up.

Intro rap (if you can call it rap)...

I'd like to give the world a break, put a smile on your face, as I erase the stress from the rat race, so you can chill, and check your life, cause it's a thrill, take some time to enjoy the real thing, so I say...

song/chorus...

I'd like to teach the world to chill
Take time to stop and smile

I like to buy the world a coke and chill w/ it a while...

Repeat over and over while main artist raps to the rythm...

Outtro...

It's a simple thing
That the world wants today... song fades out...

The artist, G. Love is from Philly. Here is a Philadelphia Inquirer article with some info on the making of the ad.

Thanks Tom,

I just realized who it was as I was listening to write the lyrics and I heard say g-love. I remember he and jack johnson cut a few tracks together.

Do you think he used a 145 in G?

standard tuning

I'd [G]like to give the world a break,
put a smile on your face,[A7] as I erase the stress
from the rat race, so you can [D7]chill, and check
your life, cause it's a thrill, take some [C]time to enjoy the real thing, so I say...

I'd [G]like to teach the world to chill
Take [A7]time to stop and smile
I [D7]like to buy the world a coke
and [C]chill w/ it a [G]while...

sometimes you [G]need to relax when things get rough so turn off your phone and let me tell you little somethin bout

It's a simple [G]thing
That the world wants to[A7]day... song fades out...[D7][C7][G]

G : |x|10|12|10|12|10| or 320033
A7: |x|12|14|12|14|12| or x02020
D7: |x|5|7|5|7|5| or xx0212

Thanks so much Leliso I really appreciate you taking the time to tab this out for me.

Awesome. I reckon I'll be able to functify the intro and jam w/ it.

Thanks again,

Ayden

That song's been around since the 1970's, and it was from an original Coke commercial, as well!

But, I never tried to play it! hehehe

Well, I've watched the commercial a couple times now.

A lot of the stuff may be a coincidence...but you never know.

What I DO know is that the red circle with three red circles in it doesnt seem to have the three red circles in it in the commercial. Go figure.

Also, the G could just be a reference to the artist, G Love. (By the way, if you liked this song you may like "My baby's got sauce" by G Love and Special Sauce.)

Who knows?

I stand corrected, I watched it a few times more and it is there, but its not in the shot I thought it was. Plus, the entire coke zero site is about how screwed up the world is 'cause everyone's uptight.

My analysis: The Coca-Cola executives are all hippies. At least we have some left.
