SG?? LP?? STRAT ??

Ive been playing about 18 mos now and have outgrown my Sqire Srat ( great guitar to learn on for $149.) I've narrowed my choices down to 3 a Gibson SG standard, a Les Paul Studio, or an American Deluxe Srat. No matter how many times I go and play all 3, I just can't seem to make up my mind.I really like all 3!! But can only afford 1 of them.Anybody out there have any thoughts or suggestions?? Thanks John

I'll throw in my 2 cents. I have always played strats. It's hard to describe but for me, they just feel right. And the tonal diversity is out of this world. I have always wanted to get into a Gibson or a PRS, but every time I set out to purchase one, I end up with a strat. The Gibsons sound great and look great, but they feel awkward. To me, it feels like they don't balance well.
Make sure that you try a wide variety of each type (Strat, LP, SG)and when play the right one, you'll know. But anyway, if I were spending your money, it would be the strat.

Im basically going through the same dilemna now. I already have a fender tele and I don't really want another fender so I probably won't go with the strat and I'd rather have a standard than a studio so I probably won't go with the lp studio.
They're all great guitars though!!

Playing 18 mos.... save your money and buy a "little" better quality guitar. Try an Epiphone, or higher quality Strat (if there is such a thing). I wouldn't waste the money on a Gibson at 18 mos. I've had an LP Custom and an Affinity Strat...still have the Affinity - sold the LP (bought a car). Expensive guitar don't make you better...

Just my thoughts,

I own a standard strat and i like it very much. The sound may get twangy but just adjust your sound settings. Do not go with the SG. Either go with the Les Paul or Strat. Even though i love my strat I encourage you to choose a les paul.
