Best amp for under $150

What's the best amp I can get for $0-$150? I'm not loaded so I need a quality amp in this price range. As a related question, what's the difference between, say, a 15 watt amp and a 17 watt one? Is there a big difference? Any advice is welcome! Thanks in advance!

Ibanez makes a 15 watt amp, a junior version of their toneblaster amp, for about 60 bucks. It's worth a test. At this price range though, it's hard to fine an amp that outshines the others.

My son uses a Fender Frontman 25R that sounds pretty sweet. I've also heard good things about the Cube 30. If you can bump your budget up another $50, I definately recommend the Pignose G40V...all tube, 40 watts, killer amp!

I have a Fender Frontman 25R and its just great for my needs. It cost abt 140$ including taxes. And, its VERY loud.
I wouldn't recommend kustom as we have a kustom PA system here thats coming apart after just a year.

I've had, and used well, a Kustom 65 watt bass amp for about 2 years now, and tried others at comparable prices in music stores. I have had no problem with it and consider it to be a great value for the price.

We had a Kustom PA system we were (and still are in some way) using for practise. When we bought it, it was a great deal and sounded great and I even wrote a good review about it. But a year past, there is a lot of buzzing noise, and the port on the amp/mixer that connects to the speaker is loose so that speaker keeps going silent, the volume knob has come off and the volume control is awry.
We have travelled with this kit about 5 times in 2 years. We keep it in one room, connect it only when we practise. I would expect things to be more reliable.
