Strat Players!

I was just wondering who plays a strat, what model and why? Also, any modifications or what is your ideal strat. Just curious. Thanks for any responses.

I don't play a Strat, but I want one. Only I want a vintage 60's-70's (US made) Strat. I think Hendrix played one. For thier time they we're pretty inovative.

To collect would be the only reason I would want one that old. I saw a mint (still had the original tags hanging from it) '67 last year at a guitar show, the price was 9,000$ non-neg.

to collect, most certainly. But also for investment and even more importantly, they we're King of the Axes for a reason. They we're GOOD. And they don't make them like that anymore.

I have a large headstock (1972 from what I'm told) Strat. It's an awesome guitar, but, there are some very good quality reissues that are much easier on the wallet. Shop around, you just might find a great deal where you least expect it.

Hi Andrew,
While I own quite a few guitars, my #1 electric is my 96' MIM Strat. Pup's have been replaced with 2 Fender Vintage Noiseless and one Duncan and I replaced the original nut with an LSR Roller nut. I've also "half blocked" the vintage trem...i.e. O can push down, but not pull back, etc..

I also have my "Shamer" strat...Charvel body with a Kramer neck...my first real custom job :-) She's got a set of generic after market singles that I would like to add some of the Fender Texes specials in place of. She sounds great and plays nice, but the neck its a little on the "thick and chunky" side for my taists.

My ideal Strat? My MIM, with all Duncan's and a vintage two tone sunburst finish...2 of my next projects :-)

Bright Blessings all,
Jim

Used 1990? Fender Strat Deluxe Plus. Seymour Duncan Hot Rail bridge, Silver Lace Sensor neck, gold in the mid. Tossed the Tremsetter(too much trouble), coil tap on the Hot Rail, TBX removed, installed, removed installed daily for years! Dunlop bass frets installed (Big Jumbos), toothpicks and glue in neck screw holes, Stock Sperzels(love!!) Painted every color Walmart stocks!! No Fender Sticker(Fender tells me its a "bad" Strat), innumerable pickguards, wiring mods, pickups, dumb stickers, broken Trem Arms, ruined saddles(Graph-Tech now!) and everything you could do to a guitar good bad and ugly!

It is now "The Perfect Strat"......unless Walmart updates their colors..... bets.jpg

2) Skidmark Brown
3) Pea Soup
4) Flat-hazy pink primer

and

5) Monkey Snot

You might wanna hurry there and grab up a few cans while you can!
