Can you believe that? I'm so anti- parallel parking that I can't even spell that word. And to do it with a 40 foot bus??? I think not!

(Had to get a special endorcement for my CDL today to help out the local school distric with sub bus drivers)

I tell ya, I'll drive around the block 4 times if I have to just to avoid parallel parking my full size blazer. City people need to realize that if there isn't enough room to make a REAL parking lot they are cramming too much crap in one space. That, or let us drive on the lawn.

K - better now.

LMAO !!! I feel your pain brother!! I have a CDL-A and I had to parallel park on my road test, funny thing is, I've been driving for seven years and NEVER came across a situation where I needed to parallel park my rig (nor would I want to attempt to). Drivers tests are the most unrealistic bulls--- on the planet. I hope ya did ok and aced the test, good drivers are hard to come by.

A fellow driver,
Brozz

I'll be taking the skills and pre-trip parts of that test soon. (It's the pre trip that worries me most. I kind of figure if I really blow the parking thing and ace the rest I should still be ok :-)
You drive a trackter trailer or dump?
Being the only girl in the boys career I have to mind my P's and Q's. I little mistake and it will stick with me for a life time! You know how they are with their little nick names.
LOL, most importantly, be great at backing up it seems. It's like they all judge your driving by how well you can drive backwards. It don't make sence to me, but I can do anything in reverse that I can do heading forward. LOL!

I got my CDL-B last year...it was amazing some of the people who failed the test in remarkably horrible ways. One guy did well on his pre-trip, and OK on the skills and road test until he ran into a dumpster pulling back onto the lot at the end of the test. One girl panicked and side swiped a whole street full of parked cars (it was a narrow street, but there was plenty of room to pull through).

I am sure you will do fine. Just relax and drive!

I let my lisence expire and had to take my moms car (never drove it before). Before you start you have to show them you know where everything is ect. I couldn't find squat. Even the horn wasn't where it belonged. By the time it came to the parking break release I was actualy out of the car and on my knees in the parking lot looking for the dang thing.
Then, the next few points I got taken off were because we were on a no parking stret (houses on the side) and the guy asked me to pull over and park. I'm thinking it was a trick, after all it's no parking. (He was wanting to see if I turned the wheels proppperly.)
So I questioned what he wanted me to do a few times, finaly he says to park as if it was my house. So I pulled right on up in the grass. Major points off!

What is CDL ?
I tried to back up and park a camper in the dark tied to a pick-up... and didn't even come close to what I thought I could do before I tried it :-(
Between the size and the lack of respect SUV's and Vans and cars give you big heavy vehicles on the road.
I respect your abilities !
School busses are like a worst nightmare to me !
Lots of loud crazy kids acting up and your can't go stop the bus and walk back their, grab a few of those little....kids
Turn them over your knee, and give them good reason to listen to what you say !
What's CDL ;-)
