Hi Bob,

Yeah, I saw him just last week in Atlanta. Very cool! He sits for the entire performance and is looking his age (to be quite honest), but he still sent a shiver up my spine with his playing!

Anyone who wants to learn to play should just listen to BB, a phrase where it's absolutely needed, no more, no less.

Still full of wit and humor too, had everybody laughing at his monologues.

Happy Birthday BB.

Tony

Thanks you, Mat. I actually had my eldest daughter in the ER last night, she, accompanied by her mother, was in getting X-rays, and I read about his B-day in this lame hospital paper...

...it was already after midnight, oh well,

Have a good one, Mat...

She'll be fine, she will never reach for another piece of steak on my plate again, I can tell you that!!!LOL!!

Just kidding, of course. I thought she broke a bone in her left foot, but she tore a ligament...
...she's actually quite happy. Elevator key at school, mom's gonna spoil her rotten, etc., etc...

I thank you for the sentiment, Mat...

Sincerely, Bob Kent

Happy Birthday B.B. King!

I believe this is why for the last week or so on the Ovation Arts Network Channel (83 in NYC), they have continually shown a program called "B.B. King Blues Workshop" and B.B.King at the Montreal Jazz Festival. The former was pretty informative. He sat with his band in a room full of guitar players and answered questions from them (about his vibrato, etc.). The latter was more of a biography. He got all teary eyed when talking about losing his mother as a child, and had to stop the interview for a second. I guess that to play the blues well, you have to be an emotional person...

I have to say BB is one of a kind. I saw him live 3 years ago and I think that one note vibrato he did is still going!!!! I was floored. Happy Birthday BB!!!! I am honored.
