Mystery Speakers

I'm a guitar player like most at this site, and I ran into a deal on 2 JBL TR 225 series speakers. Each speaker cabinet contains 2 - 15" speakers with a horn on the top. Aside from what equipment I own, I don't really know what the value of this stuff is and how to get the best use out of it. I would like to know what kind of amp I should power them with and what the true value of these speakers really is to see if I got a good deal. I heard them so I know they work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Geoff

The TR Series of the JBL line was their budget model.Average price on a used set of the model you mentioned should be less than $500.

Thanks for the help man. I actually paid under $300 for the set and a PA board. The PA board is made by Phonics which isn't all that, but I'm happy to hear I got my moneys worth in the speakers. Thanks again.

I paid $150 for one l5" JBL new in l976 and I am still playing it and expect to be playing it forever. It has a lifetime warranty. Wouldn`t use anything else. It gives me the warmest and clearest sound I have ever heard. Cal
