For those that are prone to emotion, when was the last time a song really got to you and made you shed tears, be it tears of Joy or sadness. The last song to do this to me was 'River of Tears' by Eric Clapton, it was just a beautiful song and it just makes me tear up every time I hear, I don't bawl or anything but it still get's to me.
I remember listening to Mountain Jam and feeling the same way only it was pure joy that something could sound so beautiful.

5pm today! 'Yesterday', that song's lyrics hit way too close to home in the past 3 months or so...

Nathan,
The last time l cried after hearing a song was when l was watching the film "Ghost",and the song that made me cry was unchained melody.
call me a cry baby if you want, but l thought that film was beautifully acted and the song fitted in well,it makes me cry very time l watch it.

What! Are you crying? There's no crying in metal!!!

Well, I don't know about crying, but the last songs I found "emotionally powerful" was probably The Heart Collector by Nevermore. I think it's kinda a modern day Fade to Black...a portrait of dysfunction, lonliness, and despair. Hee hee. But the emotion for me is not so much the plight of the character in the song, it's more that the lyrics and music themselves are extremely moving. A very well put together piece.

Well, I have never cried listening to a metal song, and I highly doubt that I ever will, but the lyrics on the new Sentenced-Cold White Light CD are pretty freakin' dismal...If I had half the talent/creative abilty that they have, I sure as hell would not be as bummed as they sound. Oh well, I guess they would not be Sentenced if they did not have lyrics that are depressing as hell.

I agree. I don't know what's up with those guys, but they do make good music despite their depressing lyrics. And what's with the wildlife sounds at the beginning and end of the album? That's really weird!
