Is this site on AUTOPILOT?

Does anyone actually read anything that is submitted? I have submitted new artists, asked questions, and on one occasion, actually complained about something, with absolutely no response in any case. Also, the same prize winner has been on the main page since January! Where are the administrators for this place?

Don't get me wrong - this is still, by far, the best guitar site around, IMO.

I know The Creators respond if there is a nasty thread goin' down, but I too have the same frustration in submitting artists that don't get listed, or even acknowledging that I've submitted one.

Over on ActiveBass, I've submitted Ron Carter (jazz upright) as an artist that surely should be included (Justin Timberlake is listed fergawdsake), and ActiveMusician even lists books of Ron Carter transcrption . . . but he is not listed as an artist DESPITE my multiple attempts to get him there AND having put up a post about it.

I do get the feeling, recent post by Sean Kelly notwithstanding, that since this site (and AB)seems to be well-visited as it is, not much more effort is being put into its upkeep.

tracy-- you're right that we designed the site to be largely self-sustaining, i.e. no creators necessary! sorry if some of the submission process has been bogged down recently. We should try to either streamline this or figure out another way to administer it.

cheers,

sean

So . . . what's the deal with the "submit an artist" form that doesn't seem to work? Do those forms go into the WholeNote/ActiveBass Twilight Zone?

thanks a MILLION for responding!

Darryl,

I checked out the info on your home page, dude. Don't know who you complained to - must have been private messages. Don't know what posts didn't get answered - your questions, for all 10 posts you have made here were answered, or you were answering other folks.

I for one check the reviews here before I buy most anything musical. Don't know that I have ever seen one of yours, although I see that you have contributed.

Dude, I'm just having a hard time connecting the stats and the facts with your contentions - please clarify.

Hi Chuck, thanks for the response. The questions/complaints were sent to the "Contact Us" address. Specifically, I asked about what it takes to get a new artist submitted, and I wrote another one asking how to Log Off of WholeNote. I always receive answers when I write an individual, but not when I write to the site itself.

My complaints are extremely minor compared to the enjoyment I get out of this site!

well, we like to think of it as a very special kind of autopilot, lol. But yes, there are new gear contest winners. personally, Ive yet to read that conversation with warren haines, but I know its a favorite of everyones, lol. We wish we had the time to clean up a few details, but by and large things seem to be humming along, so we dont try to mess with it too much. I'll look into why new artist submissions dont seem to be hopping along with the rest of the new content.

thanks,

sean

we're thinking about how to filter new messages based on the people you know and care about. Like I said, its still a few weeks off until we even know how we might do this-- I cant promise anything before the summer...but with the growth of the sites its something we are thinking about.

thanks,

sean
