YING I don't think theres a difference between downloading from napster and stealing from a record store.

YANG If I was in a $ucce$$full band like Metallica, I think if your good you tour thats were the coin is or at least a good chunk of it. And if your a true fan even if I downloaded a new album of theres I would want the "official" cd if its any good, gone are the days of buying the album and hoping for the best after words.

I don't know in the end if I should be p---ed at them or not, I know now money means alot to them enough to lose fans. This will definitely change thier reputation as a band forever.

Well Mike, I support Metallica's decision 100%. They lose money by MP3's. If you have their songs on your f---ing computer are you gonna buy their damn C.D.s. NO!! If I was Metallica I'd be bitchin'. Especially if I made a brand new song and there was an MP3 out before the damn song hit the radios. The only places that should be allowed to have MP3s are the band's label's website. If you were trying to sell a product and somebody was stealing it from you and giving it away wouldn't you be p---ed off. I've seen a s---load of people download entire albums. Metallica work their asses off to make this music. Can you write s--- this good. NO!!!! I don't see you selling millions of records. Oh and by the way Load, Reload, and the black album kick a-- along with every other album. And obviously I am not the only one that thinks so because they been around forever, they're rich, they kick a-- on the charts, and are hailed the best metal band ever by a s---load of magazines, and T.V. and radio shows, and even one of the best overall groups of all time, bitch. And by the way you're a pussy.

What has selling millions of records to do with the question whether somebody writes good music or not? The Backstreet Boys would be the greatest songwriters on earth!

I read that Metallica were excited about Mp3s, Hammett said that all the record companies were shakin because they would lose money, i think the reason they are scared is because of the new songs being recorded and played on the net before they are released and i can understand this, it shouldn't be about the money , they are rich anyway and if it is about the money they should examine the reasons they started playing music in the first place, and if they were fans i bet they would be doing the same thing, they would be downloading songs too, they were fans once, and i think if they didn't want people to hear there new songs, just don't play them live until the record comes out if their worried about it, or else quit bitching about it, because they lost a lot of fans doing what they did , but i bet Nepstar or whatever it's called is getting alot of publicity out of this though.

Im not exactly thrilled with Metallica's suit against napster, besides honestly I dont really like Metallica besides they are now the corporate rock dinosaurs they railed against, and Stefan is right. There is no need to get profane in conveying one's opinion. This is a discussion not "a who yells the loudest" contest. Besides I listen to Real Audio and I get to hear bands I dont get to hear on the radio. which I think is why people like MP3s or Napster..at least you can hear it before you buy it..Sorry RADIO sucks, How come we dont hear King's X or Built to Spill? and who's gonna shell out the money for CDs if they dont even know if they are gonna like it?
