When I watch the status bar in my browser, I see it hanging on "Connect: Host ads.admonitor.net contacted ..."

Looks like the ad server is either on the fritz or running out of bandwidth. The WN stuff loads in an instant (I'm on a T3 connection here at work). I've noticed exactly the same problem on several other sites that use this particular ad server.

I think you've nailed it Chuck. No problem for me with the WN content, even on my 56k dial up, but the the adds take forever and sometimes won't open. I've also recently switched to using MS Explorer rather than Netscape 'cause I was having trouble getting the MIDI content to work on this site.

I have a 56k modem connection and a P2 celeron 333mhz puter and I am not having any of the problems you guys are having except every once and a while and then if I disconnect and reboot my puter and sign on again, all is well. I don't think anything is slowing down or crashing or the like. All seems like normal to me , same as for the last year or so

I've never had a problem most of the time. I'm living on campus and my internet connection is through the SDSM&T LAN, so I get hyper fast internet connection and webpage loading.

WN is having no problems, don't worry. However, the company that serves our ad banners is having problems and I think this must have something to do with the problems you guys are having. I don't know this for sure, but it's a hunch, and certainly I can't see any other explanation as to why things would be slowing down for you. I'll mention it to Chris.

If you're getting error messages, please forward them to me or Chris via WN's messaging system. It is odd that only some of you are having problems though, it could just be time to get a new computer or stop downloading new Napster replacements...

Just FYI --

Very slow for about 48 hours now. I'm using mindspring dialup. I'm in Brooklyn. WN is non-accessible, or nearly so, during regular EST biz hours... later on in the eve the problem is tolerable, but still _noticeably_ slow.

I want my money back ;-)
