Napoleon Coste

The piece that is transcribed here is titled Morning Prayer and it is written by classsical guitar composer Napoleon Coste. Coste was born in France in 1806 and started playing the guitar at a very young age. His mother taught him to play the guitar and encouraged him to play music. Coste taught guitar for several years before moving to Paris France where he established himself as one the the leading french guitarists. Unfortunately, the demand for guitarists was in decline and he struggled to find a publisher. In 1863 an accident left Coste with a broken arm and ended his career, his guitar works still stands as testimony to his talent and creativity.
