This first exercise involes four fret stretching of the left-hand's fingers. To achieve proper technique for this excercise one must always pay close attention to the "set" movement for each excercise. This excercise's movement is ascending and then descending. The left-and right-hand's focus should be on getting the notes to sound and to use the right-hand to mute unwanted pick noise.
