This is the first installment of a trilogy of lessons based on my own personal composition called "Gravedigger Blues," which is availavle here at Wholenote in mp3 format. The next lesson is Dead Thumb Blues, and the conclusion is Walking Blues.

This lesson represents the first two cycles of twelve bar blues, and the short intro of the Gravedigger Blues mp3. I play it loosely and with embellishments, but the main ideas are here. The first half is on this page, and the second half is on the next page. On the following pages I'll break it down into smaller sections to offer tips and help with fingerings, along with some analysis of the structure. Good Luck and I hope you like it. If you do, check out my Swing Low Sweet Chariot lesson. It's bluesy and spiritual and chock full of tasty idea upon idea.
