Alright, to start off this lesson on the basics of punk and emo Ill show basic, and inverted power chords.

That is an G5 or basic G Power Chord. All power chords are named by their root note, and in this case the root note is G because it is the lowest note. Now that you get the idea, i'll show some more basic powerchords.
