Lets take a look at a standard 12 bar blues progression In A. |A7|D7|A7|A7|D7|D7|A7|A7|E7|D7|A7|E7|. Using our fresh approach, we will play an A maj pentatonic over the A7 bars, and switch back to the trusty (and nicely fitting) A blues scale over the D7 bars. What about the E7 you ask? Either stay with the blues scale for simplicity or, better yet, use the E7 arppegio. Check out the example to get you started.
