Open chords can be best explained by me as barre chords without the bar. You basically lose the bar and let some notes ring open, this technique creates texture and new sound-it could be just what a song needs to elevate it. The riff below is a simple descending open chord riff that plays well on acoustic or clean with nice reverd and a bit of chorus. Sounds best on this site when played with the sound AC Steel.
