This is an alternating excercise that I picked up from Paul Gilbert, one of my favorite guitarists. It is a repeating pattern played on the two high strings the b and the e but could be moved around to other strings. Start slowly at first and then as you become more comfortable with it increase the speed according to your personal preference. Page two consists of a different variation of this excercise and I recommend that you try it after you fell comfortable playing this pattern.
