Funk/Dance Lick In F#minor

This lick was inspired by the Britney Spears song "In the Zone." I really like the intro riff and I try to listen to a variety of music. The lick is based on an F# minor triad which utilizes 16th notes and muting. The notes of an F# minor triad are F# A C#. Pay close attention when muting, use your fretting hand to mute the strings by "bouncing" on the notes. The lick is also played an octave up in the second measure and the 6th and 7th notes are also added. I have always been a fan of James Brown and funk music. Luckily my father used to play cool funk and R&B songs from artist such as The Isley Brothers, The Commodores and Earth Wind and Fire. Thats how I grew to appreciate and enjoy funk music. These licks always come in handy when your jamming over funk and dance grooves I recommend listening to early funk music from 70's.
