If you dont get this check out my other lesson. Here are some basic pattern or relationships on the fret board. Okay the first thing to know about the fret board if you dont already know, below every note AKA 6 to 5 is the perfect 4th. Except the 3erd string which has a 3erd under it. From the 2end to 1st is again a perfect forth. Therefore B&E are tuned up a half step.

The first pattern is the same notes and were to find them incase you want to stay in the same key but want to change the pitch.
F's

These are both F's you can move this down the fret board, or switch strings (with keeping the same form except on the 1st and 2end strings in which are tune a half step higher than the pattern) of coarse when you move it then they wont be F's any more.
A's

Notice when you move to the 1st & 2end it becomes this.
C#'s

Also something you should know by now is that at the twelth fret the notes read same as the open strings.
