When playing this scale, start with the open 6th string.Strike the string with a down stroke, then place your 1st finger on the 1st fret of that string and give it an up stroke. Proceed with your middle finger, placing it on the 2nd fret, giving it a down stoke.Next, with your 3rd or ring finger, place it on the 3rd fret and give it an up stroke. Finally, with your 4th finger, place it on the 4th fret of the 6th string and give it a down stroke. Follow this pattern of both picking and fingering on the next string, the 5th string. Continue this picking and fingering pattern with the remaining 4 strings. Then reverse the procedure, and continue to use alternate picking.
