Regge is all about the up beat, the regge guitar is mostly a percusive instument here, but the simple chords used can reflect the melody. The chords used are mostly on the high E,B,G,and sometimes the D strings,The simpilest way i've found to create a regge riff is to hit a chord with a very sticoto(hard, accented)way, then for the second chord go down a perfect fith and play,(or down or up a stirng) but if that don't work usually go with the bass line,or just muffle the top three stings.Heres the main chord shapes...
If you want to do a cool little solo use a blues scale and improvise.
scale form
The chord shape can be used anywhere on the fret board, and same with the scale, just use your imagenation(lol)but any ???'s hit me up yo!!!!laters dudes
