C 2003

This little piece arose in my inner creativity and just surfaced so I wrote it down. It took about a week for the parts to come together.

During this time events have unfolded in the middle east. I have felt pain and sorrow along with many other people in the world. Conflicts arising with friends over their views. It doesn't matter what your view on the political and war scene.

We all grieve due to the turn of present events

. Perhaps we can all take a breath and think through the course of events each of us must now follow. Let us pull together and heal any rifts we feel as a community.

While writing this piece of music, the cartoon strip titled Hipshot, came to my mind.

For those who don't know what I am making reference to I will just briefly bring you up to date.

Hipshot was a cartoon character. A cowboy character, rough, and one who could shoot well. Tough exterior but had a spiritual side that every now and then would express itself.

On one particular scene it shows Hipshot next to his horse. The stars are just coming out with the sun setting. He is standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon with his hat over his heart. Looking up in the sky and saying "Thanks Boss". You see it is Christmas Eve and there is snow on the ground and on trees and things are quiet. Just the three of them. Hipshot, his horse, and the presence of the "Boss".. This was the soft side of Hipshot
