Here's a classic bluesy run that works well over this groove. It emphasizes the bend from the fourth (A) to the fifth (B) and the b7 (D) to the tonic (E). In each of the cases, you bend with your third finger up to frets to the same note on the string above it. One other thing of note is the use of triplets in a long run, which can really add spice to the line.
