Whenever I play funk, I always try to think percussive, like you're an integrated sound of the drummer's kit. This usually means lot of muted notes, and letting it out when there's space in the music. In this example, I just hang out on the E, and when the end of the two bar phrase comes, I throw in a little lick, just for spice. |
