V-I is called a Secondary Dominant relationship. In music there are several of these. The are as follows I-IV, ii-V, iii-vi, IV-vii, V-I, vi-ii, vii-iii. Each one of these combinations will lead the music you are playing into a certain direction. Now that you have this in your arsenal... go forth and create music.
