Essential Metal Soloing
Some tips part II:
-To obtain a Kirk Hamet style just use pentatonics in small repeating licks with a lot of bends.
-To obtain a Marty Friedman sound use Dorian mode of the harmonic in a fluid tempo with slow bends.Take in consideration that the root form of the harmonic is the aeolian.
-to be neoclassical use Harmonic minor and Phrygian harmonic in quick 16th notes grouping in licks of four.Try linear ideas in one string.
-use the neck pickup for neoclassical runs.
-for slow mooded stuff use the bridge pick up.
-practice with clean guitar first and to a metronome.
