Incidently, a lot of blues and pop tunes use I, IV, and V chords...notice that IV is used instead of ii....this is actually not dissimiliar to using a IV chord.
In the key of "C", a ii chord is D-F-A-C, and the IV chord is F-A-C...they sound very similiar, and function the same way because they are basically the same chord...
