The scale,A dorian mode, from the Major scale modes, is often listed as an option for blues soloing. It's notes are EXACTLY the same as the previous D Mixolydian scale, just from a different starting point:
A Dorian
A Dorian


So when making that crucial note change over the I-IV progression, you can think in terms of A Mixo to D Mixo, or A Mixo to A dorian: they are one and the same.
