Well, Power Chords, a beautiful thing, something every beginner should know to make some quick riffs, especially fun with a few effect pedals. Well here's the basic power chords you see every where, I'll put it on twice since the root can be on the E or A string.

These chords are easy and can be played anywhere on the fret board, giving them a versatility and sound that doesn't get to clouded by heavy distortion, it's fixture in any of today's mainstream rock, which doesn't say much, but hey, they work.

Ok well play the chords in this order to get a little catchy riff going so you can see power chords in action.

Now, I mean this is very very easy basic stuff, but I guess if you want to put together a few slapped together numetal or punk songs, this is the way to go. Their are other power chords, go read a lesson on power chords or that lesson on Grunge Method to learn more about them.
