Welcome to Pt III of this XIV part lesson on Paganini's 24th Caprice. I hope you have all done your homework and have at least memorized both the theme and first variation.

The second variation's rhythm is straight 16th notes. For best results, memorize this variation by playing it at a very slow tempo. Once memorized, raise the speed until you've reached your threshold (ie. Until it becomes too fast for your brain or hands.)Then, go on to find alternate positions and fingerings for this piece. You can also play this piece without slurs, making it that much more difficult.

Please, never try to play a technically demanding piece of music without properly warming up. Practicing this study at a slow speed would be a perfect way to warm up both your right and left hands. Good Luck!
