Here is a much bigger chunk of a tune (the first 16 bars of the changes to Cherokee)-and here is a basic line that follows the thirds and sevenths. Notice that the jumps occur where the progression doesn't move through a ii-V7-I progression.
This is quite a bit advanced from the previous line (last page), but is an example of what you can do with this relatively simple idea. |
