We can take each of these chords and apply a fingerpicking pattern to them which incorporates the open G string. There are 3 patterns that I like to use, and all of them are of different lengths before they repeat.
  • Mms. 1-2 show a pattern that repeats every 4 eighth notes. This is pretty steady.
  • Mms. 3-4 show a pattern that repeats every 3 eighth notes. This gives a nice 3 on 2 feel, but is not as steady.
  • Mms. 5-6 show a pattern that repeats every 2 eighth notes. Very steady, but can get boring if you use it too long.
