Note that no matter which chromatic scale you play, it will always sound similiar to all other chromatic scales (while it sounds nothing like any other scale, like a major scale or a minor scale). This is because the Chromatic scales are constructed one way, and major scales are constructed a different way. Identifying the specific sopund of a chromatic scale is a vital step in developing your ear.

Again, the way to construct the chromatic scale is entirely through half steps.
