Robben Ford Type Licks
One of the things I like best about Robben's playing is how he can use either blues of jazz licks in a V-I cadence. In this example, we continually move from the V (A7) to I (Dm7). In mms. 1-2, we use repeated quarter note triplets using a blues pattern to make the change. In mms. 3-4, a jazzy ascending run is used before returning to the D blues scale.
