Moving on, we will magically transform our "E" chord with it's new fingering into a new chord....
E

F

Our new chord will slightly alter the fingering: the 2nd finger on the 1st fret, 3rd string, the 3rd finger on the 2nd fret of the 5th string, and the 4th finger in between the two, on the second fret of the 4th string. The first finger is barring (playing all 6 strings) at the 1st fret.

NOTE: your 1st finger MUST press the 1st, 2nd, and 6th strings. Since the other strings are being stopped higher on the neck, it is not necessary for the finger to stop the strings here also.
