Kicking off this "greatest hits" collection is a comping pattern for a 12-bar jazz blues in C, intended to simulate an ensemble situation. It uses basic chordal fragments, primarily the 3rd and 7th of each chord, to establish the harmony of the progression. For more info on this and on following examples, see my lesson, Chord Fragment Soup.
