Most jazz players tend to avoid open string chords in their comping. Open string chords can be ponderous, and do not necessarily make much sense voicing wise. Many players also avoid barre chords for similiar reason. Check out my Color Tone Chords lesson for relatively easy and moveable forms you can use for any type of jazz tune.
