This section reverts back to dead thumb bass. Use the 2 finger as a base for the sliding, and the lick should be fairly self-evident. Then you can use more of 2 and 1 for the rest of the sliding ideas.

A quick note on the lick in mm. 8: While performing for the recording of the mp3 which is posted at wholenote (as well as my home page), I felt unhappy with the emotion of the piece, so I pulled off this nasty lick to try and sabatoge the take. I didn't get the effect I was going for, though: this is the best lick of the peice! I'm going down the E blues scale from B to B, over the IV chord, an A. The sequencer doesn't do it justice, but listen to the mp3 and you'll see what I mean.
