An Am7 arpeggio (A,C,E,G) is used both in descending and ascending fashion in measure 9. Eighth notes are used for the descent, and quarter note triplets for the ascent. The ascending line leads nicely into a chromatic blues lick in measure 10 that Wes used to use a lot.
