Now it's time for the last few bars of the form. Our main progression here is the II-V-I (Am7-D7-G). We create rhythmic interest by playing ascending quarter notes for the first two measures, but we always start it on the offbeat. The climax of the lick is the slide into and out of the high D at the start of measure 11, and we end with a nice idea to accent the return to the G chord. |
