A common technique in metal lead playing is to simplay pull off a series of notes in a descending sequence. Heres an example.
Here is a scale pattern that you can easily start off with. You can do several different licks with it. Play around and see what you come up with.Once you can do it fast in the open position, you can do the same thing higher on the fret board. Have Fun.
