Fast arpeggios and smooth rasguedos are both paramount to flamenco technique, observing the classical approach to right hand fingering:
  • thumb = p
  • 1st finger = i
  • 2nd finger = m
  • 3rd finger = a
Play the first 4 notes p - i - m - a and then play all of the lower-most notes (bass) with p and the 3 note chords with i-m-a. For the rasguedo part, the groups of four Am chords and E chords use a - m - i as downstrokes, followed with i as an upstroke. (see my "Rasguedo Strum Technique" lesson for more detail)
