Continuation of Group One. Enharmonic equivalents. G#dim7, Bdim7, Ddim7, Fdim7
C minor = C, D, Eb, F, G, Ab, B, C.
Key signature has three flats same as Eb major. Bb on middle line. Eb on top space. Ab on second space.
Remember, the harmonic minor has a raised 7th degree. Although the key signature shows the B is flatted, the B is raised in the music through the use of the natural. Every time the note "B" is written in music notation in this key, a natural sign has to be placed in front of the note cancelling out the flat intended for that note, other wise the note "B" will be played as Bb (flat)according to the directions from the key signature.
Primary chords in the key of Cm are Cm(i)=C, Eb, G. Fm(iv) = F, Ab, C.
G7(V7)=G, B, D, F.Lowered ninth(b9)=Ab. Raised ninth(#9)=A#.
Bdim7(vii7)=B, D, F, Ab.
Bdim7 notes and passing tones = B, [C], D, [Eb], F, [G], Ab**b9, [A#]**#9, B.
Eb minor = Eb, F, Gb, Ab, Bb, Cb, D, Eb.
Key signature has 6 flats, same as Gb major. Bb middle line, Eb fourth space, Ab second space, Db fourth line, Gb second line, Cb third space.
Primary chords in the key of Ebm are Ebm(i)=Eb, Gb, Bb. Abm(iv)=Ab, Cb, Eb
Bb7(V7)=Bb, D, F, Ab Lowered ninth(b9)=Cb. Raised ninth(#9)=C#.
Ddim7(vii7)=D, F, Ab, Cb
Ddim7 notes and passing tones = D, [Eb], F, [Gb], Ab, [Bb], Cb**b9,[C#]**#9, D.
Review. The four vii7 chords sound the same, but the passing tones used are slightly different due to their derivation from different keys. Check out the sounds when you play them on your guitar.
