Using slides is a great way to add fluidity to your playing. The type of slides shown in this lesson is pretty straightforward: fret a note, pick it, and then slide your finger to another location on the fretboard while the note is still ringing. In some cases, the note will end when you're done with the slide (or even when you're still sliding), and in other cases, the note will still be ringing when you've finished sliding.

The example below shows these two cases. In the first 4 measures, we just use the slides for color, but you don't really hear the end note (i.e. the target note of the slide). In measures 5-8, we slide into our target note and just let it ring until it's time to do another slide...
