Lessons: Lesson #2025: Applying The Melodic Minor Scale |
|
Pages: 1 2 3 4 5
Suggested Tempo: 120 |
|
To start off, we know that the Melodic Minor/Jazz Minor Scale as well as the Dorian Minor, Harmonic Minor, and the Natural Minor can be used, when improvising, over a chord of minor tonality. To be more specific, the Melodic and Harmonic Minor tonality fits the Minor chord with a raised 7th (min+7). Minor chord minor scale, right? But of course that's stating the obvious but in music nothing is verbatim.
We're now going to see how this scale can be used over a dominant chord. |
