Here's a series of licks over a Dm7-G7-C chord progression. They're mostly eighth note lines with slurring (i.e. hammers and pulls) mostly into notes occurring on the beat. There's nothing etched in stone regarding the articulation. You can pick all of the notes or slur them all. Some of the intervals and patterns might seem strange. This is because they mostly come from piano players. I find that transcribing piano lines is a great way to keep your playing fresh. I also suggest that if there are some of these licks that you really like, take them and learn them in all keys. That's the only way to embed them into your playing. |
