Robert Johnson's Thumb Bass Style
The most common turnaround that Robert used in songs of this type? Simple! Use the last 2 bars of the intros that you've looked at on the previous 2 pages, again using the 1st string-5th fret played simultaneously with the walk down the 4th string from 5th fret to 2nd fret. The timing can be adjusted but he used the same stuff all the time. Here's an example from "32-20 Blues", assuming that we start from bar 9 of a 12-bar progression (note that bars 9 and 10 are thumb-bass only, as the lyrics are predominant here).
