Now the third Minor Scale we're gonna discuss is the Aeolian Mode. It's the 6th mode (note) in the Major Scale. The formula of constructing this mode is 1 b2 b3 4 5 b6 7 8 or Notes:E F# G A B C D E.The Aeolian Mode is also a extension to the Minor Pentatonic scale.

Its also called pure, pure natural, natural minor or relative minor, because of the relationship with Major Scale. This haunting sinister Mode capable and able to powerful expression in variety of ways mainly in Hard Rock/Metal.The Aeolian Mode can be use with chords like:Power chords, barre Chords,Major Chords(with the Major Scale) or chords with the same letter name(note).

Now play the Aeolian Mode in all keys. Continuing playing the Mode over and over until your have gotten use in playing, also playing the Aeolian mode calling out each notes while your listening. This is one of my favorites in listening.
