Now let's take a look at our first Minor scale we're gonna discuss is the Phrygian Mode. It's the 3rd Mode inside the any Major scale. The Phrygian Mode formula of construction:1 b2 b3 4 5 b6 b7 8:Notes are:A B C D E F G A.This mode is one the most interesting mode used in Rock,Metal,Jazz and etc...Now play this mode over a E power chords,Barre chords or Chords with same Letter name(Note). As for me I love the Phrygian mode.

Its expression is so haunting with the different ways to play and sounds like a Ethic approach such like Egytian,Spanish, Gypsy. But this greek church mode used by many metal guitarists have adopted this scale as it can be used to create a heavy/dark sound.Again learn this most power Minor scale in all keys until you get to hear the individual notes thats makes this Mode so powerful.
